FAQ

Q. What is bleed?

A. Bleed is an extra amount of artwork on each edge of the page that allows us to trim the edges down neatly. All artwork is printed on an oversized sheet of paper that is cut down to the finished size. We require a minimum of 2mm on each edge of the artwork.

Q. Can I receive a “Quick Quote” from Foyer Printing over the phone?

A. At Foyer Printing, our pricing professionals prefer to receive quotes in writing, as it’s easier to refer back to the order when calculating a price. The amount of time used to quote over the phone takes longer than when quoting by email.

Q. What is print ready artwork?

A. We prefer a high resolution PDF (300dpi). The artwork must have minimum 2mm bleed on each edge and use only CMYK. It’s also required that all fonts are outlined/converted to curves.

Q. Why do the colours on my computer screen look different to the ones printed?

A. The colour spectrum used for computers is based on RGB (Red Blue Green) and the colour spectrum used for printing is based on CMYK (Cyan Magenta Yellow Key). The reason the printed artwork looks different is because they are two completely different colour spectrums. Graphic designers are professionally trained to be able to colour match between the two for successfully printing digital designs.

Q. Does Foyer Printing offer graphic design?

A. Yes, We offer a wide range of artistic services. Please specify in detail what you’d like designed so as to receive an accurate price. Services include: business cards, flyers, posters, presentation folders, notepads, calendars, invoice books, envelopes etc

Q. What is our turn around time?

A. Most products we offer take about 3-5 workings days to print from the day the artwork has been approved. This refers to basic production; additional finishing, scoring, collating, cello glazing, foiling or other printing services add additional days to the turn around time.
